Committed to the professional development of our team members
At Kreischer Miller, we recognize that our team members have a strong desire to continually grow and develop their professional, technical, and interpersonal skills. At the same time, we’re committed to keeping our team members’ skills and knowledge current, so that we can provide the best guidance and advice possible to our clients. One of the key ways we accomplish these objectives is by offering a robust in-house university.
Kreischer Miller University (KMU) is one of the primary ways we demonstrate our commitment to the professional development of our team members. KMU includes educational programs at all levels and targets technical/CPE, leadership, management, professional, and software skills. Our course curriculum includes over 75 topics, such as:
- Investment company accounting
- GIPS best practices
- Broker/dealer updates
- SEC/FINRA regulatory update
- Investment industry resources
- Taxation of investment transactions
- State tax nexus
- Maximizing foreign tax credits
- Principles and qualities of genuine leadership
- Presentation skills
- Research skills
- Employee development skills
- Business development and selling techniques
Team members are active participants in determining the development avenues they pursue and KMU provides the vehicle through which much of their professional development is obtained. Each year, every team member works in conjunction with their manager to devise a customized individual development plan.
Most of the courses are held in Kreischer Miller’s office, while some are held offsite. KMU courses are taught by subject matter experts on the Kreischer Miller team as well as by professionals from outside organizations.
We utilize an on-line learning management system to monitor team member continuing education compliance status as well as manage in-firm education and individual learning plans assigned to each team member. This learning management system is also the tool we use for CPE/CPA license tracking, compliance, and reporting.
